Adding Job Sites
Job sites are the foundation of GPS-verified time tracking. Here’s how to set them up from the supervisor dashboard.
Adding a New Job Site
From the supervisor dashboard:
- Click New job in the sidebar navigation
- Fill in the Job details:
- Job name: A descriptive name for the site
- Address: Street address, business name, or place name
- Click Search map to locate the address
- Review the search results and select the correct location
- Confirm the pin on the map—drag it to fine-tune the exact site location if needed
- Set the Start date and estimated End date
- Select the Trade type (General construction, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or Finish work)
Setting the Geofence
The geofence defines how far from the pin counts as “on site” for GPS verification:
Use the Geofence radius field or click a preset button:
- 50m: Tight urban site (small footprint)
- 100m: Standard job sites
- 150m: Large lot or spread-out site
- 250m: Campus or large commercial site
The map shows the geofence circle in real-time as you adjust
Note: Crew verification adds a small 10-meter edge grace so phones don’t fail when they drift slightly at the curb.
Assigning Workers
In the right panel:
- Check the boxes next to workers to assign them to this job
- Assigned workers will see this job in their crew workspace
- Only assigned workers can clock in at this site
Schedule and Notifications
Configure optional scheduling:
- Crew start time: Set the expected start time for the crew
- Auto clock-out warning: Choose when to warn about long shifts (9, 10, or 12 hours, or disabled)
Add Supervisor notes for any special instructions about the site.
Saving the Job
Click Create job to save. The job will appear in your All jobs list and on the Site map.
Managing Existing Jobs
From the All jobs panel:
- Click any job to view details
- Click Edit Job to modify settings
- Click View on map to see the site location
- Use View Audits to review GPS verification data
- Use Review Hours to check time entries for this site
Tips for Job Sites
- Search flexibility: You can search for street addresses, business names (like “Domino’s Pizza”), or known places (like “Albertsons in Renton”)
- Pin accuracy: Always confirm the dropped pin matches the actual work site
- Large sites: Use bigger geofence radii for commercial construction or campus locations
- Descriptive names: Use clear job names (e.g., “123 Main St - Johnson Remodel”) to help crews identify sites quickly
