Geofencing Setup
Geofences create virtual boundaries around your job sites. They power automatic reminders and location verification.
What is Geofencing?
A geofence is an invisible boundary around a location. When a crew member crosses this boundary, Geowork can:
- Send a reminder to clock in
- Automatically verify their location
- Alert supervisors to crew arrivals
Setting Up Geofences
Each job site automatically gets a geofence. To adjust:
- Go to Settings > Job Sites
- Select a job site
- Adjust the Geofence Radius
- Save changes
Recommended Radius Settings
- Residential sites: 300-500 feet
- Commercial sites: 500-1,000 feet
- Large industrial sites: 1,000+ feet
Geofence Notifications
Configure what happens when crew members enter/leave geofences:
- Clock-in reminder: “You’ve arrived at [Site]. Don’t forget to clock in.”
- Supervisor alert: Notify foremen when crews arrive
- Auto clock-out reminder: “You’ve left [Site]. Did you clock out?”
Tips
- Start with larger geofences and tighten over time
- Account for parking areas outside the main site
- Test geofences with a crew member before rollout
